A Philosophy Shared Across Generations
The principles Dana and I have embraced, and the example we hope to set for Bella: character, humility, discipline, intentional living, and service.
Excellence Is Progress, Not Perfection.
Executive leader, entrepreneur, and clinician with more than 30 years of experience building and transforming organizations. I develop exceptional teams, strengthen operating performance, advance innovation, and create sustainable enterprise value across healthcare and beyond.
For more than three decades, I have helped build and lead organizations from entrepreneurial startups to enterprises exceeding $100 million in annual revenue and operating across approximately 200 locations. My focus is people, disciplined execution, meaningful relationships, and lasting performance.

My work has taken me from clinical practice to leading complex, multisite organizations. Throughout that journey, the most meaningful results have come from investing in people, creating clarity, and building cultures where accountability and care can coexist.
Outside the boardroom, I am a husband to Dana, father to Bella, lifelong martial artist, published author, and former reserve deputy sheriff. Each part of that journey has shaped how I lead and live.
Explore my perspectives →My expertise spans private equity, M&A, private practice, capital raises, operational transformation, organic growth, EBITDA expansion, and successful recapitalizations.
What defines my leadership is not simply growing organizations, but creating measurable value after capital is deployed.
Most recently, as CEO of Areté Health, I led the formation and expansion of a multistate healthcare platform to more than 20 clinics across four states through acquisitions, de novo development, and clinician operating partnerships. In approximately 18 months, we assembled an exceptional executive team, integrated acquired businesses, established scalable operating systems, and leveraged technology to improve clinical and operational efficiency.
Our acquired core clinics delivered double digit year over year visit and new patient growth in 2026. Targeted operational, payer, and revenue cycle initiatives also improved net revenue per visit, including acquired practices progressing from approximately $70 to more than $90 per visit.
My greatest professional satisfaction comes from building exceptional teams. I believe an organization’s success is determined by the leaders it develops, the culture it cultivates, and the accountability it creates.
My leadership philosophy combines strategic vision, financial discipline, operational excellence, and a commitment to developing people. Sustainable growth requires more than deploying capital. It requires building repeatable systems, protecting culture, and consistently converting opportunity into performance.
While healthcare has been the foundation of my career, my expertise extends to enterprise leadership, multisite operations, business transformation, and private equity value creation.

Validation · Inspiration · Affirmation
My published book explores personal development and well-being through the connected dimensions of body, spirit, and mind. Written from my perspective as an occupational therapist and student of traditional naturopathy, it reflects a longstanding interest in self-awareness, intentional living, and the human experience.
Its three foundational themes remain relevant to how I think about relationships, personal responsibility, and leadership. The book also represents an earlier chapter of my thinking, one I continue to revisit and refine.

Years ago, our neighbors introduced my wife, Dana, and me to the philosophy of Areté. Brian Johnson's book Areté: Activate Your Heroic Potential helped give language to values we already wanted to live by. Those principles have become part of how we approach our marriage, our family, and how we have sought to influence our daughter, Bella.
To me, excellence is not a destination or a claim of perfection. It is the intentional pursuit of becoming better through humility, integrity, discipline, collaboration, and service. The measure is not simply what we achieve, but who we become and how we treat others along the way.
That commitment extends beyond professional leadership. It shapes how I care for my health, how I develop relationships, how I set boundaries, and how I reflect on each day. I believe we can strive for high standards while remaining grounded, teachable, and compassionate.
